“And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’” These are the words of Jesus in Matthew 28:18-20. Jesus made it clear before he went to be with the Father that all, who are his disciples, are called to continue spreading the truth of God and making disciples of all nations. I am so excited that I get to fulfill that call through the amazing opportunity of going on the World Race Gap Year missions trip! During this trip, I am expectant and hopeful that I will be able to share the love of God through spreading the good news about Jesus’ sacrifice for us and serving others. Yet, I believe that the Lord calls and enables us to fulfill this great commission in many different ways. Some even fulfill the great commission by staying in their home town and ministering to their neighbors. So why, you may ask, do I feel the call to go overseas and minister to people in multiple different countries? Well, I have felt the Lord tell me that he wants me to love and defend all people. He has also given me a heart to do that in other countries, through missionary work. I may not at the moment completely understand why he has called me in that way but I believe that sometimes the Lord asks you to do something that you don’t completely understand and as you obey he shows you the why. I can’t wait to go on this trip because I believe God has an amazing plan and I am excited to share the journey with you all through this blog!
